And strive early in life to acquire Education due to the sudden death of his uncle, late ONUOHA ODIM, who passed the entrance to University College in 1936.
Ufere Ilum Eme got married in January 1966. He has four sons and eight daughters.
Ufere Ilum Eme was an excellent student. Elder Chief Dr Ufere Ilum Eme, who became the first in everything he was in Nkporo. He attended Nkporo Central School from 1943 to 1949, Boys Vocational School, Ididep, 1950, Federal Government Teacher Training College, Uyo, 1956 to 1957, and University of Nigeria, Nsukka, 1979 to 1980. At the age of 17, Elder Chief Dr Ufere Ilum Eme started his teaching career as a classroom teacher on the 1st of January 1951. He rose to Headmaster of the school in 1964, until 1985 when he became a senior supervisor of the school (Inspector of Education). He retired from the civil service in 1987.
In his career as a teacher, he believed so much in human development of the future Etitiama and Nkporo in General. When most teachers found pleasure in teaching outside Nkporo for pleasure he stayed back home and combined his teaching career with the social cum political development and dogmatic emancipation of Etitiama and Nkporo in General. At 17, he was the secretary of the Etitiama council of chiefs under the late Chief Ude Akpala Eziama. And also the secretary of the Etitiama Union at that time. A position he held till 1979. He exhibits progressive mindedness, never participating in any negativity, deceit, or injustice.
Space will not allow us to mention all the positions he held in the developmental project of Nkporo in General, ranging from, Executive member of Nkporo Development Union, Founding member of Nkporo secondary school, Chairman board of Governors, PTA, etc.

In fact, Etitiama Girls High School was his brainchild. Elder Chief Dr Ufere Ilum Eme represents a fast thinker, quick decision taker, and above all, implements such. Omereoha was never apolitical, a member of Ohafia Divisional Council, a member of Owuwanyanwu County Council 1964-1967, and a member of Nkporo Community Council 1962 - 1970. He entered into active politics and became the first elected Deputy Chairman of Ohafia Local Government from Nkporo (1990-1993) during this period his administration embarked on various projects in Nkporo in general which are still very much with us The American Ambassador self help project in Etitiama Ultra modern market and the various lock up shops that were constructed, the construction of various Culverts and Gutters around Nkporo, among others, Nkporo has been in existence in local government system for years but the local government presence had never been felt before emergence into politics, and no Nkporo indigene was working under the local government council, but he employed not less than 30 person's who are still working in the system today. All these earned him the title “OMEREOHA” of Nkporo. And the good God increases his strength to do more.... Prov. 24:5.
A jinx breaker, he worked very hard and maneuvered his way to be the first Executive Chairman of Ohafia Local Government from Nkporo. He single-handedly established the three autonomous communities (Amudu, Amafor, and Amaelu/Amautu) in Etitiama and helped establish some other autonomous units in Nkporo, which ended the struggle for Ezeship in Nkporo, bringing a lasting peace among the people. He embarked on the giant project of road construction of the Oroni -Elughu - Etitiama road. Various Culverts and Bridges were constructed, and others were under construction, but for the “zero allocation” which affected the local government finance during the greater part of his administration. The truth of this is well known to many who have delved into the matter to have more insight. His detractors, critics, and those who hated and diatribed against his achievements capitalized on this situation, not created by Elder Chief Dr Ufere Ilum Eme, but the Federal Government fiscal formula that even stopped him from taking a loan to complete that project. A pace-setter he was, in his struggle, strategy, vision and focus to become the Local Government Chairman, creating the political awareness or consciousness for the "Nkporo politician" to strive higher for political post and appointment which culminated in the production of four commissioners in the state executive council and several other appointments, therefore bringing the people continue from here
closer to the government at the state level, paving the way for the production of the first Nkporo men that will become the first Executive Governor of the State. This was his budding project before sickness came.
Elder Chief Dr. Ufere Ilum Eme embraced Christianity early in life. He was baptized and confirmed as a member of the Presbyterian Church, a mission teacher in some Presbyterian schools, Sunday school organizations, and the choir. In the church, he was never hidden as a leader. He was commissioned as a Ruling Elder on the 19th of January 1977 by Rev. O. Egbuta. He was the first Elder commissioner of the Nkporo Parish, the first Elder commissioner of Ndi-Elu Parish. The first and only Ambassador of the Presbyterian church, East Synod from Nkporo. He built, equipped, and donated a vestry for the Presbyterian church, Ndi-Elu Parish. A life patron of the Boys Brigade. A motivator in all Church projects, among others. He lived a life worthy of his calling.... Eph 4 : 1
In his Age Grade, he was "Obikemba personified". His early appearance on stage, led to the establishment of the magnificent Obikemba age grade in Etitiama, whose presence and unfailing strength will forever be remembered in Etitiama. He was always a member of the central executive until their retirement.
The IBEOGBAGHA family was hardly known before the little Ufere Ilum Eme came to life. He shone like a light, and when the light comes, darkness could not comprehend it .... Jn 1: 5. The family now becomes expanded. He stood as their symbol of unity, strength, and power. But the giant was expected to do more! more!! and more
