In 1966, she attended the Presbyterian Modern School, Amaekpu Ohafia, where she obtained her Modern 11 Certificate. The Civil War in Nigeria, 1967-1970, did not allow her to proceed further in her nursing education. She got married to Mr. Ude K. Onwuka in 1973. In 1975-1977, she attended the Women's Training College, Umuahia, and obtained the Teacher's Grade 11 certificate. In 1989-1992, she attended the Alvan Ikoku College of Education (AICE), Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, and obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).

Nnenna U.K., as she was popularly called, taught in many schools in Abia State, namely Etitiama Community School, Amurie Primary School, Arochukwu Central School, Ogbokwe Primary School, Asaga Ohafia,
Central School Okoko Item, Practicing School Uzuakoli, and Amamba/Amankwo Community School, Uzuakoli, where she taught last before coming to the United States in 1998. Ug. Was a sociable, beautiful Lady. She was a lady of amiable countenance and a great stature of mind. A brave-hearted lady who guarded her pride with an excellent sense of humor. She was very much concerned about the welfare of people in need. She never compromised neat and sparkling surroundings, yet she had a rare flair for cute and smart outfits. She was very hard-working and was liked by her co-workers and friends. She came to the USA with the US lottery in 1998 and remained with her cousin in New York, where she worked round the clock to get money to bring over her husband and two children in 1999. She was a lucky lady, indeed.

Late Ugo Onwuka was a devout Christian of the Presbyterian Church and a chorister. She has had different positions in the women's guild in the Presbyterian church at home in Nigeria. She never ceased to appreciate the grace of God upon her life, nor was the gospel of salvation and peace ever scarce in her mouth. She was the most faithful and righteous woman, whose love for her husband and children cannot be quantified. She remained a loyal and dedicated wife and woman until the afternoon of August 10, 2001, when the heavenly bells tolled.
Dear mum, you have lived and died a hero, like a guardian Angel, and you are there for us all. Even in the miry days of protracted illness, you fought a good fight of holding your faith for so long in the Almighty God, that one day you would be healed. Now you have gracefully transcended all
"bodily pains. We give God Almighty our gratitude. Mum, you are too young to die, leaving your husband, your eight children and your friends, but we cannot question the will of God, for God's time Is the best time, and death is inevitable.
Adieu, mum, till we meet to part no more on the other side of the glory land
Her husband and eight children, her mother, and sister survive her.
